Sometimes memories are the only things we have. They make and shape us into something beautiful. Sometimes they tell stories. Sometimes they carry feelings. Sometimes they express to us the beauty of things that were and hint at things to come. Sometimes Memories.
Hi readers!
I’m excited to say that I’m going to be bringing you two Burning Man articles this week. Currently I’m working on an article for Burn After Reading Magazine. Check out BAR’s site. Like their articles and share them with your friend’s please!
On a quick side note, I’m happy to say that Capacity and Desire’s Facebook page is picking up steam! I’m sharing lots of interesting relevant content over there. It was one hectic weekend but check back for new articles and content throughout the week!
Being a dancer involves constantly pushing your body to new and greater limits. I’m always working out, stretching, training, and exploring new movements. The more I push myself, the better life feels.
I’ve finally reached the point in my dancing career that I’m good enough to get paid. This, while wonderful, is pushing me to get into better physical condition. Carrying any extra weight is causing me to second guess myself in some visual areas. To combat this, I’m stepping up the workout routines and jumping into yoga.
Working out feels natural and Yoga is kicking my butt. I’m thinking of pushing it up to 5 days a week with workouts, and 3 to 4 days a week with Yoga. Eating healthy is going to be somewhat of a chore. I definitely don’t want to overdo it.
Are there any readers out there who also perform/dance? What do you do to stay in shape?
Here’s a video of a practice session I did about a month ago. I definitely need to work on my lower body movement and my legs.
This is the second installment of a weekly article on the Burner (Burning Man) culture, current events, and stories.
Everyone has stories from the Playa. One week spent in the Black Rock desert leads to a lifetime of stories. When Burners get home, they can’t help but talk about and discuss their experiences at Burning Man. This post is the first audio post in an ongoing series titled This One Time, At Burning Man.
This One Time, At Burning Man will be a collection of written, audio, and video stories told by Burners from around the world.
This week’s story comes to us from a Burner named Ambassador. It’s a story about a hat, how Ambassador got his Burner name (Burning Man 2009), and some of the strange things that can happen on the Playa. Ambassador’s Hat was recorded at the Fusion Factory in Denver on a Monday night potluck gathering.
If you would like to submit an audio, video, or written story for the This One Time, At Burning Man series, please contact me at CapacityandDesire@gmail.com. Make sure to read last week’s Burning Man article on ticket ideas and the STEP program and please help Capacity and Desire out by sharing this story and going to the Facebook Page and clicking like.
