Creating My Future

I’ve been busy.

I’ve been using that sentence as an excuse. An excuse to not write, read, work out, eat correctly, create websites, update my portfolio, design new art, create new costumes, and an unending list of other important things.

That stops now. It’s time to start living up to the title of this page, the title of my business, and my motto. Capacity and Desire. I have grand desires. I have the capacity to manifest those desires. I have the ability to increase my capacity and reach my desires.

It’s time to switch from a person who consumes (Media, Books, Blogs, News, Stories, Pictures, Performances, Sounds, etc), to a person who creates. It’s time to create.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the things that I’m doing to make this happen:

Limitless Reflection Whomp Bot GearMy Limitless Reflection work is in full creation mode. I’ve designed some amazing new sound reactive, remote controlled gear to use in my performances. You can see some of it over on the Limitless Reflection site. I’ll have some of these designs and creations up for sale on my new Etsy page by the end of the week. I’ve also been training daily for future performances. The goal is to take the Limitless Project to a whole new level by the end of the year.

My website creation and design skills are getting better daily. Check out my work on Wine World, Limitless Reflection, and the Capacity and Desire Business sites. I’ve created many of the logos, pictures, page layouts, and designs on these sites. I have a few more sites that are in mid-creation mode right now. They should be done by the end of the week. The goal is to take them and use them to showcase my website design portfolio. I’m going to try and grab some freelance WordPress Website creation and design jobs.

I’ve been writing daily. For two weeks, I’ve been writing for up to an hour before I go to bed. It started off with a goal to create a budget for the next 7 months. I’m happy to report that I’ve stayed on budget and increased my production to reach my goals. It’s a good feeling.

I’m genuinely proud of my work at my current day job. I’ve finally managed to get the site looking close to the way that I want it. It’s running faster, people have commented that it looks better, and we’re generating relevant and valuable content daily. It’s something that I’ve been trying to make happen for a while. Now that we’ve got it headed in the right direction, it’s on me to keep it going that way. Combine the site with the email that I send out to 25,000 2 times a week, and I’m genuinely excited to say that I’m seeing successes in my day job.

I’m stepping up my social media game. I post daily on Instagram (@Limitless_Reflection), connect with at least one person a day on LinkedIn, post daily on the Capacity and Desire Facebook Page, post daily to the Capacity and Desire Twitter account, and I’m back on Pinterest. I read quite a few business blogs and performance art blogs daily.

The next big step is to create, create, create. I’m going to be posting blogs and posts on both the Capacity and Desire site and the Limitless Reflection sites. At a minimum, you’ll see at least one blog a week on both of those sites. The goal will be to have at least 2 posts on Limitless and 3 on C+D weekly.

I’m inspired. I’m pumped. I’m capable. It’s go time!

So Much to Do!

Ah ah! It’s been a while. Things have been quite interesting over the past few months. I’ve been sorting some things out and have been keeping busy.

USC Events Resolution NYE Capacity and Desire and Super Geek LeagueMy performance life has been wonderfully amazing of late. I performed with Super Geek League on New Years Eve as the Ice King. Indiyana Rae Von was the Ice Queen. We ran around together rocking dance battles on stilts and taking pictures with the crowd. I really love EDM Bass fans. They’re just about the happiest people on the planet. It’s really fun when a bunch of them are running around your stilts/trying to climb you to ask how you happened to get such an awesome job.

Mid-February, I took off to perform in Denver with the Unicorns, Whomp Truck, the Fusion Factory and see my best friend perform in Bohemia. Performing with the Unicorns is always a treat. Bohemia stole the weekend with the best show I’ve seen in Denver. The whole weekend was a whirlwind of stilting, acro-yoga, acro-fire, tumbling, aerial, fire dancing, costumes, and friends. While I had a blast in Denver, I’m bummed I missed out on a Super Geek League show while I was away.

I have the beginnings of a new costume I’m calling Whomp Bot 1.0. I’m working on lighting costume design for this one and I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Capacity and Desire Fucking Unicorns Whomp Bot

My aerial skills are finally rounding out and I definitely should be able to perform with them by June.

There’s so much to write about! I’ll break this down into a few posts and start getting pictures up in the meantime.

Coming up:
USC Events Lucky 2013 with Super Geek League
More to be announced with Bassdrop, SGL, Apogaea, and more!

Success in Seattle

Capacity and Desire Web is a small business that I am trying to get up and running. Please check out my IndieGogo Campaign and help me raise the money to start my small business.

One of the nicest things about being part of the greater Burning Man culture is the instant connection that I have with other Burners. For example: One month ago, I moved to Seattle. In that month, I have made many new friends, have attended quite a few potlucks, and have been welcomed into the greater Seattle Burner culture. I’m starting to remember people’s names, people are recognizing me and I feel right at home in my new city.

The Burners out here have quite an interesting culture. They all tend to be older than their mid-twenties and many of them are successful people in both their artistic and professional lives. I don’t know if it’s the new Burners I’m surrounding myself with or the new and exciting city, but I’ve never been this focused to succeed.

A list of what I’ve done and started in Seattle so far:

  • Started a new workout and eating program so I can have the performance body I’ve always wanted
  • Started running
  • Started a new business: Capacity and Desire Web
  • Started an IndieGogo Campaign for Capacity and Desire Web
  • Managed to get two new clients for Capacity and Desire Web
  • Landed a job at a start-up company
  • Became the Assistant Shin for Northwest Conclave
  • I’m now a dancer with New Vision Dance Company Seattle
  • Continued to progress with my guitar practicing
  • Attended some networking events
  • Created the Exodus Festival website

It’s pretty amazing that I’ve managed to do all of this so far. I still have a lot to do with my life. It’s pretty awesome to be living it the way I want to.
